Western Cape Education Department E-learning Toaster | A high powered computer in a touch screen kiosk format hosting a comprehensive repository of educational resources as provided by both WCED as well as Breadbin and their content partners.

Educational content repository | Content staged in the repository are resources in many formats such as examination papers, core curriculum in digital PDF format, science simulations, educational android apps for smart phone and tablets, teacher support videos, WCED & SUN telematics videos, supplementary video and PDF’s for teacher and scholar, educational related freeware etc.

Teachers take away content | Teachers, HOD’s, Principles and CA’s can search, preview and download singular or multiple items from the Toaster using a CD, DVD or USB flash drive. If the teacher has a tablet, smart phone or laptop they are also able to navigate the content wirelessly on their device while connecting easily to the Toaster WIFI Hotspot. Should the teacher not have access to any digital device, they can choose the option to print directly from the interface.

Usage and feedback | All Toasters are connected to the Breadbin cloud for the purpose of remote management of the device. New content will be loaded onto each machine via this connection when the material becomes available, to ensure the repository has new and current content. Log file reports can also at any time be downloaded from the cloud for usage both regionally and nationally, providing feedback on all facets of the usage.
